Weekly Recipe: Apple Pie in a Jar

I served this tasty drink at our party last night. It is based on a yummy punch I had last year at my friend Kelly's Halloween party. It is delicious when served cold or warm, and is a perfect fall party drink. Be careful, it has a tendency of sneaking up on you though! And yes, you will feel crazy when walking into a liquor store asking where the Everclear is. Just warning you.

Apple Pie in a Jar

Recipe adapted from allrecipes.com
24 servings, 30 minutes prep, takes several hours to cool

Ingredients
1 gallon apple cider
3 cinnamon sticks
3/4 cup sugar
4 dashes cinnamon
1 dash nutmeg
2 tablespoons vanilla
1-1/2 cups Everclear (190 proof grain alcohol)

1. In a large pot, heat cider, cinnamon sticks, and sugar over medium-high heat until it reaches a rolling boil.

2. Remove cinnamon sticks and remove pot from heat, letting the mixture cool to room temperature (we let it sit overnight).

3. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and Everclear. Serve chilled or warmed in a Crockpot.
