Baseball Game Adventure

Dustin and I are always looking for things to do. We love to find new, fun things to do, and since we are completely new to North Carolina, this has meant a lot of hunting through the newspaper and Internet to find things to do on the weekends. Saturday we decided to check out a baseball game!

Now it may not be the major leagues, like the Atlanta Braves games we used to go to each summer, but we had a great time at the Kinston Indians game! It was less than an hour away, and tickets were only $5 with military ID.

We were a little confused because the game was supposed to start at 7, but I guess the previous day's game was rained out, so they changed it to a double header- 6:00 and 8:30. So we caught the tail end of the first game, and then the second game as well. The stadium was really cute, and over 60 years old! And Dustin got the HUGEST Philly cheese steak I have ever seen, for only $5, so he was a fan of the (relatively) cheap ballpark food.

It was a really great time, and I think next time we are going to try and get box seats right by the field. They are only $7, plus each box has a waitress to bring you your drinks and food :) Looked pretty neat to us!

  1. If you're looking for fun things to do, there's Emerald Isle. My husband and I liked it better than Onslow beach because there were very few Marines there. Also there's the aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, it's a little small but it's cheap too and there's Fort Macon which is close to the Aquarium. Then there's New Bern and where Pepsi was made but I've never been there. All this makes me miss living in Jacksonville!! (My husband just EAS'd in October)

  2. Hey! Minor league games are the BEST! Just like you said cheap seats, great food, and lots of fun! I can't wait to tell Bobby that you saw the Indians' Minor league team, that's his favorite MLB team! :)
