New Year, New Resolutions

The end of a calendar year provides such a clean slate to think about how you can do it all different in the next 366 days. So what are my goals?

1. Be more healthy and conscious about what I put into my body. That means less eating out, and paying more attention to the labels on my food that I cook.

2. Walk/run 780 miles. That's 5 miles, 3 times a week, for 52 weeks. And, that's enough calories to lose 20 pounds!

3. Read a new book every month. Already on my list for January: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.

4. Finish setting our emergency savings account up with $10,000. We are 11% there so far!

5. Be more crafty. Since my parents got me Cricut for Christmas, I want to try making handmade cards and handmade gifts this year.

6. Polish up my portfolio and resume. I need to do a better job in actually organizing and displaying all the things I do in my classroom.

7. Learn how to take better photos. And by that, I mean learning at least one new, cool thing to do with my camera every month to take better photos.

I really hope I can accomplish all of those things this year, and I think I am going to check in and update my progress on these goals at the end of every month this year, to keep myself accountable.

For the rest of you, good luck with your New Years' Resolutions! Hopefully they last at least until February, ha ha.

  1. I really liked Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (although, some parts are a little strange...I'll just leave it at that, ha). The next book in the series is pretty good too. I'll be anxious to hear what you think!

  3. @Heather - I haven't even started reading it yet, but tomorrow after school I think I'm going to try and start reading. I've heard it's hard to get into the book, so I hope I like it!

@Amber Polk - Thanks for the award!

@MzzNenaBo0 - I need all the luck I can get - I may have set a few too many goals, ha ha.
